THE GRITTY PIONEER
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Gritty Pioneer Scholarships are for students entering the 10th, 11th or 12th grades. Ideal applicants should exemplify success and ambition through grit, perseverance, discipline and determination. Scholarship applicants shall enroll prior to the start of a semester and chosen candidates must achieve certain goals during the school semester (assessment period) to be rewarded a scholarship after the semester closes.
Grades
Candidates must receive more A's than B's and no C's or lower during the assessment period.
Dual Enrollment
Candidates need to achieve entry into dual enrollment at Hillsborough Community College.
Work
Candidates must maintain a verifiable job working 10+ hrs per week.
The Scholarship
Candidates who successfully achieve all requirements will be awarded a scholarship fund that matches their total job earnings during the assessment period including tips for up to $5,000 per school year. This scholarship payment will be made into the Florida Prepaid College 529 Plan at the end of each semester.
